About Me

I received my PhD from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA in 2012 in the field of Mobile Ad hoc and Sensor Networks, Communication Protocols, and Simulations. My research work focuses mostly on communication and protocol evaluation, Blockchain technologies, Information Centric Networking, Internet of Things, Software-defined networking, 5G/6G systems, and Simulation for mobile and wireless ad hoc/sensor networks. Currently I am working as Associate Professor (Research) at Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China. I am a Senior Member of IEEE and Associate Editor of IEEE Access.

The Advanced Mobile Computing & Networks Lab will have 2 positions available for Ph.D. scholars starting Fall 2024 session.

The core focus of research is on 5G-Advanced and preliminary 6G applications in hyper-scale BC, integrated AI/ML, and non-IP content distribution systems. Prospective students should have strong understanding of mobile communications & computing, reasonable knowledge of distributed ledgers, BC implementations, & AI/ML algorithms, as well as basic understanding of discrete mathematics & calculus.

The primary focus of thesis will be on 5G-Advanced implementations and modeling. Students will be taking course work in communications, networks, and mathematics.

Research on key technologies for network resource optimization in 5G network applications

IS23056 - This project aims to address resource allocation, management, and optimization, in an automated and efficient manner for 5G-Advanced systems. It focuses on virtualization techniques and smart contracts to tackle the integration and automation challenges in different application areas, such as aerial and vehicular networks using hybrid network formation.

Currently working as Associate Professor for research since July 2016. I have graduated 5 PhD Students, and currently supervising 6 PhD and 1 MS student.

Assistant Professor, Head UG Studies - National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan (2013 - 2016)

From Feb 2013 to June 2016 I worked as an Assistant Professor at NUST, Pakistan. During this time, I also served as Head of UG studies (Dept. Chair equivalent).
